CGSM program elements operate data at remote sites throughout Canada. Sixteen of these sites have been identified as "core sites". Instrumentation and communications at each of the sixteen core sites are handled by the site Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI) and the data is retrieved in quasi real-time via satellite internet. The sites are monitored via a number of web tools developed and maintained by Brian Jackel. The 16 core sites are the 13 former CANOPUS sites, and Inuvik, Sachs Harbor, and Fort Chipewyan. Each of the remaining sites are managed directly by instrument groups. Questions regarding operations at those sites should be directed to the operations manager for the appropriate program (see table below).
